SOCIAL MEDIA

Social Media management and marketing has quickly become the most important aspect of any brand

Social Media management and marketing is by far the most critical component of a brands’ digital presence. The reason for this is because of the incredible opportunities that it offers. It allows a company to deliver a message to an audience instantly and provides a level of organic discoverability that is unlike anything else. The sharing and engagement elements can captivate existing customers and reach new ones.

COMPONENTS

When considering all of the components involved with social media marketing, there are exponential as many approaches to strategy or their execution. Every company and organization has different goals and needs too, so it’s important to create a plan that is custom-made. Social media marketing involves several components that work together to help businesses reach their target audience, increase brand awareness, and drive sales. These components include:

  1. Social media platforms: The first component of social media marketing is choosing the appropriate social media platforms for your business. This includes platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and more.
  2. Content creation: Once you have chosen your platforms, the next step is to create content that will be shared on those platforms. This can include text, images, videos, infographics, and more. The content should be tailored to the specific platform and audience, and should align with the overall goals of the social media marketing campaign.
  3. Social media advertising: Social media advertising is a paid form of promotion on social media platforms. It allows businesses to reach their target audience by placing ads on social media platforms, such as sponsored posts, promoted tweets, and sponsored stories.
  4. Engagement: Building relationships and engaging with customers is a crucial component of social media marketing. This includes responding to comments and messages, sharing user-generated content, and creating a community of loyal followers.
  5. Analytics: Measuring the performance of your social media marketing efforts is important to understand the ROI, and to make data-driven decisions for future campaigns. This includes tracking metrics such as engagement rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates.
  6. Integrations: Integrating social media with other marketing channels and platforms, such as email marketing, SEO, and website can provide a cohesive and more effective strategy to reach and convert leads.

Implementation & Execution

Proper execution of all of these different components is critical too. For example, it makes perfect sense for a professional hockey team to have a very active Twitter account, as new information needs to be published fast, and there are many individuals that want to see it. In comparison, it makes no sense for a locksmith or a mechanic to have their company active on Twitter, as it just isn’t the right platform for the info they would share. Both of those businesses would have much better engagement on Facebook and Instagram. It’s okay to not be active on every platform!

It’s incredibly important to know where your company will perform best because social media requires a lot of effort, constant attention, and a good eye. Putting time into the wrong platforms, strategy, or another component can cost you valuable time and money (especially in the case of boosted posts).
